Moving on Up

Well, actually I have become a little bit tec savy. Here I am blogging from my rooted nookcolor. Time to say goodbye to laptops, tablets and expensive data plans. Here I can surf the web, blog, and check up on the world with wifi app. This is all good because data plans are expensive in the UK.

I leave in a few weeks, and still have a LONG list of things to do. Numero uno is prepare my talk. I have to remember that is the reason I have been given carte blache.

But, I have been distracted. Mostly with time lapse photography, which will be really cool in Scotland. I figure if I give myself a few days for the talk... then I will be good to go.

It's Official- Photo Adventure Coming Up

I have been accepted to present at a conference this June-July. The cool part is that I am funded to go to the conference and play afterwards. In my mind, that means a backpacking-bushwacking-whisky drinking-photography adventure. I will be in the UK for a month this summer. Only 4 of those days are pure conference. What a great deal, I have to talk for 15 minutes and then I get over three weeks of travel.

Check out the map for the itinerary (used very loosely... because I do not plan trips like this). The adventure starts in London. I will travel down to Plymouth, where the conference is. On route I plan on visiting the Jurassic coast and historic sites of Stonehenge and Avebury. Afterwards, I will fly up to Scotland, and this is where the real fun starts.

I am going to travel from Glasgow to Oban and Glen Coe, where I plan to visit the Monty Python castle before going over to the Hebrides islands. The Hebrides can be divided into two main groups, separated from one another by The Minch to the north and the Sea of the Hebrides to the south. The Inner Hebrides lie closer to mainland Scotland and include Islay, Jura, Skye, Mull, Raasay, Staffa and the Small Isles. There are 36 inhabited islands in this group. The Outer Hebrides are a chain of more than 100 islands and small skerries located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) west of mainland Scotland. I plan to visit the Islands of Mull, Ionoa, Straffa and Skye.

Afterwards, I will head to Inverness and the land of Whisky via Fort William and all the wonderful sites on the way. Then down the East coast to look for James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser at several standing stone circles. Should be a fun adventure. I will update the blog about travel preparation and fun stories from the travel.

New Year, New Shop, New Images, might as well create a New Blog

Well,it is about time to start blogging about photo adventures. And this year promises to give alot. After recent trip to Fiji, South Africa, and Death Valley; this year promises back packing throughout the British Isle and some travel to Chile.
